First Birthday Studio Session
This studio session was a special one for me. Our daughter turned one (!!) in March. We celebrated with a small, lowkey party with family and it was perfect. Ahead of our celebration, I captured her one-year-old milestone portraits and birthday cake smash at my natural light studio space, and I know I will be forever grateful to have these. For a classic, timeless look, I edited these in black & white and love how they turned out.
Celebrating a 1st birthday soon? Check out my previous blog post on some first birthday gift ideas here! Interested in booking a first birthday milestone session with LVP Collective? Check out my availability here or send me a note at lauren@lvpcollective.com. My Full Session (1 hour) would be the perfect option and gives up plenty of time for some portraits followed by cake smashing!
Romper: Zara (was a hand-me-down from a friend) | Bow: Amazon | Party Hat: Etsy – Little Blue Olive Shop (she didn’t wear her party hat for this session but wore it proudly during her party) | Cake: Mae’s Bakery
A letter for my daughter on her 1st birthday
365 days of auden. the best year of my life. full of change and purpose and excitement. raw, beautiful, messy, overwhelming and all consuming. completely draining but more fulfilling than anything I’ve ever done. the biggest, purest, surest love I have ever known.
it’s hard to remember what life was like before she joined us. i had been dreaming, praying, waiting. she was so new yet so familiar - like i’d known her my whole life. she was my rainbow after a heartbreaking loss and she has completed me in ways i didn’t know were possible.
there’s no doubt i’ve lost a bit of my own identity in this journey, but i’ve found another version of myself - a better version, a version i’m so proud of. growing and learning alongside my little family will always be one of the greatest joys of my life.
happy birthday to our best, happiest girl. so grateful she’s ours to love and i can’t wait to see all the places she’ll go.
